EDUCATION, TRAINING, & CONSULTING SERVICES

Small Talk Counseling & Consulting offers workshops on stress, emotions, resilience, communication, conflict, and relationships; basic education on mental health topics like anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief; and programs for organizations, schools, and workplaces on behavior support, mental‑health first aid, and burnout prevention. Sessions (single, multi‑week, or ongoing) are adapted by age, culture, and setting. Participants learn proven strategies, simple self‑help tools, and referral options—reducing stigma, enabling earlier problem detection, and supporting lasting change. We also provide program evaluations to measure impact and guide improvements, and offer speaking engagements tailored to your audience and goals.

Clinical Supervision & Mentorship

We provide clinical supervision for Provisional Licensed Professional Counselors (PLPCs). The clinical licensure experience is a structured, rigorous journey that transforms graduate training into independent professional practice. It typically includes supervised clinical hours, focused documentation and case review, performance evaluations, and the completion of national and/or state licensing examinations. Candidates gain practical experience treating diverse populations, refine diagnostic and treatment skills, and develop ethical decision-making under the guidance of licensed supervisors. The process also requires meeting regulatory requirements—such as background checks, continuing education, and jurisprudence exams—before a license is issued. While demanding, licensure ensures practitioners have demonstrated competency, accountability, and readiness to provide safe, effective care.

We also offer mentorship, professional guidance, and career-focused support for pre-certified Mental Performance Consultants (CMPCs). The Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) credential from the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) is a recognized standard for professionals who apply sport and performance psychology principles with athletes and performers. The AASP CMPC process requires candidates to meet education, mentorship, and experience benchmarks to demonstrate competency in assessment, intervention, consultation, research, and professional practice. Earning the CMPC credential signals that a practitioner has met AASP’s professional standards for delivering evidence-informed mental performance services and is committed to ongoing professional development and ethical practice.
